GE will provide 16 turbines to PGE Energia Natury PEW for its Karwice wind farm in northern Poland. Karwice is located 15 kilometers from Darlowo near the Baltic Sea and will produce 40 megawatts of power.

The GE wind turbines are a part of a turnkey project between PGE Energia Natury PEW and a consortium of Aldesa Nowa Energia and Aldesa Construcciones, GE said in a statement. The wind farm’s output will feed power into the Sianow-Slawno transmission line.
In addition to providing the wind turbines for the project, GE also will provide the Karwice facility with around-the-clock remote monitoring and diagnostics through its global wind monitoring center in Salzbergen, Germany, which monitors wind turbines in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Construction on Karwice will be completed in November 2015.
