Bullocks | Mercedes-Benz Campervan from Australia to South Africa

We are pleased to highlight another specialized vehicle logistics operation successfully completed by our member, Bullocks Freightmasters International from Australia, involving the transportation of a Mercedes-Benz campervan from Fremantle, Western Australia, to Durban, South Africa.

Bullocks Freightmasters was contacted by an Italian couple who had completed an extensive tour of Australia and were preparing to continue their journey across Africa. Their Mercedes-Benz campervan needed to make the journey with them, requiring a suitable international shipping solution.

A Flat Rack Solution for the Campervan

Due to ongoing restrictions from many RoRo carriers, which often decline personal motorhomes because of onboard belongings and insurance concerns, Bullocks Freightmasters recommended transporting the campervan using a 40 ft Flat Rack container.

This provided a safe and reliable alternative for the vehicle, allowing the shipment to proceed with minimal complications.

The campervan was successfully loaded in Fremantle and shipped to Durban, South Africa, with the entire process carefully coordinated alongside Bullocks Freightmasters’ trusted South African partner.

Close Coordination Throughout the Journey

Throughout the shipment, the local agent provided daily updates covering key stages of the operation, including vessel arrival, customs clearance formalities, and unloading.

This close communication enabled the clients to remain informed throughout the journey and provided additional peace of mind while their campervan was in transit.

The vehicle ultimately arrived safely in South Africa, allowing the couple to continue the next stage of their African adventure.

Most recently, they have been exploring the landscapes of Mozambique, continuing their travels with the same campervan that accompanied them across Australia.
