Headway JSC | Shipping Solution for Flat-Pack Furniture to the Philippines

We are pleased to share another successful logistics operation completed by our member, Headway JSC, involving the transportation of flat-pack furniture from Vietnam to the Philippines through an optimized ocean freight consolidation solution.

Following a series of successful international logistics projects, Headway continued to earn the trust of its overseas agent by managing this consolidated shipment, supporting efficient cargo handling, container optimization, and schedule reliability.

Shipment Details

• Trade Lane: Ho Chi Minh City → Manila, Philippines
• Mode of Transport: Ocean Freight – Consolidated Cargo (Consol)
• Cargo Type: Flat-pack furniture
• Main Commodities: Power recliner sofas, smart beds, height-adjustable desks
• Shipment Specification: 01 × 40’ Container | GW: 14,090.1 KGS | VOL: 61.438 CBM
• Scope of Services: CFS cargo stuffing, export customs clearance, and optimized consolidation solutions

With extensive experience in consolidated cargo operations, Headway supported the consolidation of cargo from multiple shippers moving on the same trade lane toward a common destination. By utilizing a shared container solution, the operation optimized transportation costs while ensuring efficient container usage, cargo safety, and compliance with vessel schedules.

Optimized Cargo Consolidation

Due to the variety of cargo loaded within the same container, Headway implemented detailed cargo planning and securing procedures to:

• Maximize container space utilization through strategic cargo arrangement
• Ensure proper cargo segregation to protect product quality and surface conditions
• Reduce risks of shifting and vibration through suitable dunnage and securing methods
• Maintain schedule reliability through flexible stuffing coordination aligned with vessel departures

Flexible Coordination Under Tight Timelines

During execution, changes in the customer’s delivery plan delayed cargo readiness and created a risk of missing the CFS receiving cut-off.

To avoid delays, Headway proactively coordinated with the CFS warehouse operator and related parties to adjust the stuffing schedule, ensuring the shipment was loaded in time for the intended vessel departure. This approach helped minimize additional storage costs and prevented potential roll-over charges while maintaining the planned delivery schedule in the Philippines.

Strengthening International Logistics Capabilities

Beyond cost optimization, this project once again demonstrates Headway JSC’s ability to provide flexible and reliable logistics solutions that protect delivery schedules and minimize operational risks.

The successful execution of this shipment further reinforces Headway’s expertise in consolidated cargo services and international transportation solutions, particularly for furniture cargo requiring high standards of packing, stowage, and container space optimization.

We congratulate our member for this successful operation and their continued contribution to excellence within the global logistics network.
