TEU Completes Complex Ro-Ro Operation from China to Tanzania

We are pleased to highlight another successful international project completed by our member, TEU – Transitario Lda. from Portugal, involving a multi-stage Ro-Ro operation connecting China, Portugal, Spain, and Tanzania.

The project involved the import of two trucks from China to Portugal, where the vehicles underwent equipment integration before continuing to their final destination in Pemba, Tanzania.

Project Highlights

  • Cargo: 2 Trucks
  • Initial Route: China → Portugal
  • Purpose in Portugal: Equipment Integration
  • Onward Route: Portugal → Algeciras, Spain → Pemba, Tanzania
  • Mode: Ro-Ro
  • Scope: Import, Export Clearance & International Transportation

The operation required careful coordination across several stages. TEU first managed the import of the two trucks from China into Portugal, enabling the required equipment integration to be completed locally.

Following this stage, the team coordinated the necessary export clearance procedures and arranged the onward transportation of the completed vehicles via Algeciras, Spain, before their shipment to Pemba, Tanzania.

With multiple countries, customs procedures, and operational stages involved, the project required close management to ensure a seamless transition from import and equipment integration to re-export and final transportation.

The successful completion of this operation demonstrates TEU – Transitario Lda.’s ability to manage complex cross-border logistics and Ro-Ro transportation through coordinated customs and operational solutions.

We congratulate our member, TEU – Transitario Lda., on another successfully executed international project and look forward to sharing more achievements from their team.
