American CargoCare | INO Summit 2025 Name Badge Sponsor
Since joining the OPCA network in 2017, American CargoCare, Inc. has established itself as a key player in the logistics industry, contributing to the global trade landscape with a strong focus on personalized service and efficiency. As the Name Badge sponsor for INO Summit 2025, their support further underscores their commitment to fostering industry collaboration.
In this exclusive interview with Nick Pullen (CEO), we dive into their journey, expertise, and vision for the future of freight forwarding and project cargo.
1. Could you share the story behind your company’s entry into the freight forwarding industry and how it has evolved over time?
"American CargoCare, Inc. was founded in 2012 as a freight forwarder, NVOCC, and logistics provider by Nick Pullen (CEO) and Rithy Oeurn (Managing Director), who together have more than 50 years of experience in the industry. Even though our business has grown substantially, we still offer highly personalized service to our clients and agents alike—this has always been our business model, and we will continue to uphold it.
We are FMC-licensed freight forwarders and NVOCCs, TSA-approved Indirect Air Carriers, DG-certified, and 3PL providers. Customs clearance is also provided through our partner brokers. This authorization enables us to handle shipments to and from any U.S. airport, ocean port, or inland port, whether it’s FCL, LCL, air freight, domestic moves, border crossings, hazardous cargo, breakbulk, RO/RO, or project cargo. We even handle shipments to and from Alaska and Hawaii.
With contracts with most air and ocean carriers and a vast network of truckers across the country, we provide highly competitive rates and comprehensive service."
2. Which project cargo services do you offer, and what distinguishes your company from other project cargo providers in your country?
"We offer a full range of project services at all major U.S. ports, including trans-loading onto open-top or flat-rack containers, breakbulk handling, overside loading, and providing cranes on-site. Compared to most forwarders in the U.S., we have the ability to quickly quote on projects, including oversized and overweight shipments, whether local to the port or far inland. Additionally, we can provide riggers to dismantle machinery to fit containers, helping reduce costs for our customers and agents."
3. From your perspective, what is the value of being part of a logistics network, and how has your experience with our network contributed to your success?
"It’s relatively easy to find freight agents around the world; however, most do not handle projects and have rather limited capabilities. Through OPCA, we have connected with many great companies that operate at the same level as we do. Additionally, we know that OPCA has vetted them, ensuring they are financially secure and have a strong reputation.
The combination of the three INO Networks Group at conferences is also a great idea, allowing us to connect with several forwarders from Freight Midpoint (FM) and Freight Forwarders Family (3F), the other networks in the group. OPCA is very professionally run, and we have been members for the past seven years."
4. What opportunities for improvement do you see in the freight forwarding industry, and how do you think companies can address them?
"I will comment that our industry is slow to adapt. For sure, there will be more automation, especially following the lead of the shipping lines. Most of us use software such as CargoWise, so we will adapt as they evolve. Labor is expensive, particularly in North America and Europe, and there is no doubt that AI will be introduced to improve efficiency.
The role of most small to medium-sized forwarders is to be hands-on with their clients, who are typically either not very familiar with logistics or don’t have the time to closely monitor their shipments, relying on the forwarder to handle everything."
We sincerely appreciate American CargoCare, Inc. for their ongoing trust and support. Their commitment to personalized service, innovation, and industry collaboration is truly commendable. We are excited to welcome them as the Name Badge sponsor at INO Summit 2025 and look forward to another successful gathering of global project cargo freight forwarders!
