Cost-Cutting Boat Transport by BR Partners with Flat Rail

We are excited to share a groundbreaking development from our OPCA member BR Partners Logistica Internacional Ltda (Brazil), who successfully executed the first shipment using the patented Flat Rail system to Port Everglades, USA this week.

The Flat Rail – an exclusive, certified, and patented solution by Peters and May – is now available in Brazil only through BR Partners. This system allows for the safe and cost-effective transport of oversized boats longer than 40 feet, which previously required breakbulk methods. This innovation enables such boats to be shipped using Flat Rack containers, significantly reducing logistical complexity and costs.

In the first Flat Rail shipment, BR Partners transported a 44-foot boat with an impressive 40% cost reduction. This includes all import charges, equipment rental, assembly, disassembly, and return of the rail system to Brazil for reuse.

A second shipment is already scheduled—a 51-foot boat (16.24m long, 5.96m high, 22 tons)—expected to save 44% in total shipping costs.
