Headway JSC | Display Cooler Shipment From China To The USA
We are pleased to share a successful shipment completed by our OPCA member Headway JSC, further demonstrating the network’s capability in managing international cargo flows across major global trade lanes.
In January 2026, Headway JSC successfully executed an international ocean freight shipment comprising 04 x 40' HC containers of display coolers from China to the United States, highlighting the company’s strong supply chain management and coordination capabilities on the Asia–U.S. West Coast route.
The shipment departed from Ningbo, China, and was delivered to Los Angeles, California, under a Full Container Load (FCL) shipping model designed to ensure efficient handling and secure transportation for bulky cargo.
Shipment Details
- Commodity: Display coolers and spare parts
- Volume: 04 x 40’HC (371 cartons)
- Ocean Freight: Ningbo, China → Los Angeles, CA, USA
- Scope of Services: International ocean freight, export customs clearance, and destination port coordination (CY/CY)
Logistics Characteristics of Display Coolers
Display coolers are classified as bulky cargo, featuring large dimensions and requiring careful handling to protect both structural integrity and product appearance, which is particularly important for retail display purposes.
Although not categorized as Dangerous Goods (DG), these units contain integrated refrigeration systems and electronic components. Therefore, the shipment required:
- Optimized stowage planning to maximize space utilization within the 40’HC containers
- Proper lashing and securing to minimize vibration during long-distance ocean transit
- Risk control measures to prevent impact damage that could affect operational performance after installation
FCL – CY/CY Shipping Model for Bulky Cargo
Based on the cargo characteristics and delivery schedule requirements, Headway implemented an FCL – CY/CY (Full Container Load) transport model. Under this arrangement, the cargo was fully loaded into dedicated containers and delivered directly between the container yards of the port of loading and port of discharge.
Headway’s logistics solution included:
- Advising on suitable transportation strategies for bulky cargo
- Arranging 40’HC containers that met dimensional and payload requirements
- Coordinating stable vessel schedules on the China – U.S. trade lane
- Executing accurate export customs clearance and synchronized documentation
- Maintaining close coordination with the destination agent to ensure on-time delivery
For this project, the client handled cargo stuffing at the origin warehouse, while Headway JSC focused on managing transportation execution and documentation control to ensure overall schedule compliance.
Flexible Coordination Under Tight Timeline Requirements
The shipment was executed under a tight delivery timeline aligned with the client’s business plan. Headway proactively monitored vessel schedules, optimized cut-off times, and maintained close coordination with the shipping line, customs authorities, and the destination agent.
As a result, all four containers were safely delivered to Los Angeles in sound condition and within the committed transit timeframe.
Value Delivered by Headway
The successful execution of this shipment once again highlights Headway JSC’s expertise in managing large-scale FCL shipments, particularly for bulky cargo requiring detailed transport planning and risk management while ensuring efficient supply chain performance across global routes.
At OPCA (Overseas Project Cargo Association), we are proud to see our members demonstrating operational excellence and strengthening global logistics connections through reliable and professional cargo solutions.
