Heavy-Lift Success by PRIMA SA for ITER Project
Good News...
OPCA Switzerland member PRIMA SA Transport & Trading has once again demonstrated its strength and reliability in handling complex project cargo. In April 2025, the company successfully completed a major transport operation involving VV Sector #04 for the ITER Project — one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world.
The oversized cargo measured an impressive 17,000 x 10,000 x 10,000 mm and weighed 600 tons. The challenging operation included inland transportation from the manufacturing facility to Ortona Port, followed by port operations and the careful loading of the heavy unit onto the vessel using specialized heavy-lift equipment.
Every stage of this high-precision operation was executed with strict attention to safety, engineering, and coordination, reaffirming PRIMA SA’s role as a trusted logistics partner for large-scale industrial projects. The seamless integration of inland and maritime logistics showcases the company's capability to manage multimodal transport of critical infrastructure components.
We congratulate PRIMA SA Transport & Trading on this outstanding achievement and are proud to have such a skilled and experienced company as part of the Overseas Project Cargo Association (OPCA).
