Project Overview

Our member, Point Global Logistics (USA), successfully managed the door-to-door import of specialized, oversized casting machinery from Corzano, Italy to Puebla, Mexico. The project required meticulous handling of non-standard dimensions and full compliance with international trade regulations.

Execution 

The project was managed through a coordinated, multi-modal strategy: 

• Specialized Transport: Utilized Flat Rack and 40' Open Top containers to accommodate the oversized equipment. 
• End-to-End Coordination: Secured and managed ocean freight from Genoa, Italy, to Veracruz, Mexico, in partnership with Hapag-Lloyd. 
• Comprehensive Risk Management: Provided full international cargo insurance to protect the high-value shipment. 
• Regulatory Compliance: Efficiently cleared Italian export documentation (including EUR1 certification) and navigated Mexican import customs regulations. 

Results

The operation was completed successfully, achieving the following outcomes: 

• Schedule Integrity: The shipment was delivered on schedule, ensuring no disruption to the client's production timeline.
• Zero Incident Delivery: The high-value machinery was transported without damage or logistical complications.
• Proven Capability: Demonstrated expert management of complex, intercontinental heavy-lift logistics.
