Overcoming Road Challenges: From France to Ciudad del Carmen

We proudly highlight the outstanding project performance of our member, Racing Cargo, who successfully transported an oversized flexible pipeline from France to Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico — overcoming complex route limitations, strict authorization processes, and tight delivery windows with exceptional precision.

Transporting an oversized flexible pipeline valued at over USD 700,000 required meticulous coordination, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving from the logistics team. Despite challenges involving permits and authorizations from local transit authorities, as well as tight inland transit windows, the shipment was delivered on time and in perfect condition thanks to careful planning and real-time response to every obstacle.

Key Challenges in Mexico

In-Port Unstuffing

Due to the oversized height, unstuffing from the 40’ Flat Rack had to be completed inside the port to lower the cargo before inland transit could begin.

Inland Route Obstacles

Because of the cargo’s high value, an escort accompanied the truck throughout the journey. The route required pre-approval from both local and state transit authorities. With a total height of approximately 5.20 meters, the cargo had to pass through dense overhead utility lines in an urban area. A restricted two-hour window (2:00–4:00 a.m.) was granted, and the cargo was successfully delivered that same morning — meeting the client’s deadline.
