Oversized Capital Goods Delivered by Khimji Ramdas in Oman
Good News...
Overseas Project Cargo Association (OPCA) member Khimji Ramdas Shipping LLC has once again demonstrated its expertise with a remarkable project in Oman. The company played a vital role in delivering oversized capital goods that will contribute to the expansion of a Free Zone operator’s facility.
Khimji Ramdas Shipping LLC (KRS) recently ensured smooth execution of clearance and delivery scope for a shipment of oversized capital goods for a Raw Petroleum Coke Manufacturing facility in Oman, taking delivery under hook at the Breakbulk terminal at Sohar.
The shipment comprised of various cargo items encompassing a total volume of 8628 CBM with the longest piece being 37.5 meters, the widest piece at 3.65 meters and the heaviest piece being 53 tons. Total packages handled were 189 in numbers.
The critical activities were to ensure that the trailers were placed under hook prior to vessel arrival so as to ensure fast turnaround of the vessel and move the oversized packages through the under repair road access to the Free Zone area, with suitable trailers, entailing night time transits with Police escorts.
The necessary permissions for Free zone delivery were obtained from the authorities, a Route Survey was conducted prior to vessel arrival and a detailed plan was shared with the receiver of cargo for arranging prompt offloading.
KRS does it again, in meeting the required standards of execution, HSE and Clearance ensuring timely delivery to the end client's satisfaction.
This successful operation by Khimji Ramdas Shipping LLC once again highlights the professionalism and reliability of OPCA members. We are proud to share the achievements of our network and celebrate their commitment to delivering world-class solutions in global project cargo logistics.
