Racing Cargo Handles Cryogenic Tank Project in Mexico
We are pleased to highlight a recent project successfully executed by our member, Racing Cargo, involving the transportation and inland delivery of an oversized cryogenic tank from Changzhou, China to Nuevo León, Mexico.
Handling oversized cargo rarely takes place under ideal conditions, and this project was no exception. The shipment arrived at the Port of Manzanillo during a period of peak congestion, where extended queues, shifting terminal appointments, and strict height restrictions required careful coordination and fast decision-making. Despite these operational challenges, the cargo was released on the same day, transported inland, and unloaded safely in full compliance with operational and safety requirements.
Project Overview
- Cargo Type: 40’ Flat Rack
- Cargo: Cryogenic Tank
- Dimensions: 1110 × 306 × 313 cm
- Weight: 15,300 kg
- Route: Changzhou, China → Nuevo León, Mexico
Designed for the storage of industrial cryogenic liquids at ultra-low temperatures, the tank required precise handling, stability, and coordinated execution throughout the entire logistics chain.
Operational Environment
The cargo arrived during one of the busiest operational periods at the Port of Manzanillo. Terminal congestion created constantly shifting appointment windows, while the oversized height required strict route validation before inland transport could proceed. These factors demanded proactive planning and continuous monitoring to avoid delays.
Execution Highlights
To maintain operational continuity under challenging conditions, Racing Cargo implemented several key measures:
- Strategic positioning within the terminal to secure same-day release
- Technical verification and adjustments to meet dimensional and route clearance requirements
- Arrangement of certified lifting equipment for safe unloading operations
- Operational adjustments in response to weather conditions at the delivery site
Through real-time coordination and careful execution, the team ensured that the project progressed without interruption.
Reliable Execution in Complex Conditions
Despite congestion, changing timelines, and environmental challenges, the operation was completed safely and efficiently. By anticipating constraints and maintaining full operational control, Racing Cargo once again demonstrated its capability in managing complex oversized cargo movements.
This project reflects Racing Cargo’s commitment to precision, compliance, and reliable execution—proving that in oversized logistics, while ideal scenarios are rare, consistent performance remains essential.
We congratulate our member for this successful project and their continued contribution to excellence within our global network.
