Successful Multimodal Operation Through Panama’s Logistics Hub
We are delighted to highlight the recent success of our Overseas Project Cargo Association (OPCA) member, UP Cargo, Inc. (Panama). The company has once again demonstrated its expertise in complex logistics solutions by completing a challenging multimodal operation.
The shipment began in the United States as a breakbulk ocean freight destined for the Netherlands, with transshipment planned through Manzanillo, Panama. However, unforeseen vessel delays at the Manzanillo terminal created a significant risk to the client’s strict deadline.
In close collaboration with their U.S. partner, UP Cargo, Inc. took swift action by interrupting the maritime transit. The cargo — a valuable artwork worth USD 550,000 — was carefully retrieved from the port, transferred to the airport, and re-routed via air freight directly to Amsterdam.
This decisive move ensured the shipment arrived on time for the exhibition, reflecting UP Cargo, Inc..’s commitment to flexibility, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Leveraging Panama’s role as a strategic logistics hub, the company showcased its ability to adapt and deliver solutions without compromise.
We sincerely congratulate UP CARGO, INC. on this remarkable achievement and look forward to witnessing more outstanding contributions from our valued member in the global project cargo arena.
