Transped Manages Wind Turbine Import to Spain
We are pleased to highlight the successful execution of a complex renewable energy project by our member, Transped (Spain), who recently coordinated the complete import and delivery of a wind turbine from Shanghai (FOB) to Aliaga, Teruel (DDP).
The operation covered every stage of the logistics chain, including port storage in Spain, inland transportation using specialized wind-energy transport equipment, unloading and temporary storage at the wind farm, and the final positioning of all components in mounting configuration.
Cargo Details
• Three blades, each measuring 55 metres
• Three tower sections, each 4.5 metres in diameter and approximately 33 tonnes
• One nacelle, weighing 114 tonnes, including hub and cover
Given the size, weight, and sensitivity of the cargo, the project required precise coordination, detailed planning, and specialized handling solutions. All transport and lifting operations were carried out in close cooperation with the company responsible for prevention and installation, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and smooth preparation for final assembly.
Through careful execution and strong coordination between all stakeholders, Transped ensured operational efficiency, safe handling, and accurate placement of each component at the wind farm site.
This successful project once again demonstrates Transped’s expertise in managing complex project cargo and renewable energy logistics, reinforcing their position as a reliable partner for high-demand industrial and energy-related shipments.
We congratulate our member on this achievement and their continued contribution to sustainable energy projects within our global network.
